I love the idea of notching the fabric so that a strip can be added without sewing. I have come to the forming of my braided bowl/basket and I can see how the same method could be used for making a braided rug. So that is what I want to make next, your notching idea will save me a lot of time. Thanks!
I can't wait to see how you do this with a toothbrush! Arthritis in my hands has made me give up knitting and crocheting. I am hoping maybe this new technique will be something I CAN do. Pretty rug!
I've put you in my reader, I can't wait to see how you do this. It'll be awhile before I can actually get the time but I've been wanting to make one of these for my bedroom for ages. Thanks!!
I love making toothbrush rugs!! I am in the process right now of making one for the floor of our basement room. It's going to be the largest one I've made. I did a squidoo lens on making mine. Would you mind if I add a link list module in my lens and add your links to the 4 part instructions?
I just started a Frugal Friday's with Marsha on my blog. I would love for you to come and add some of your posts to the linky!!
Also, I delete comments that only ask for a follow back. The best way to get me to YOUR blog is to leave comment showing that you've read SOMETHING on my blog. Thanks!
Our family has some definite quirks. We love any kind of music--well most of us do. We we don't have a dishwasher, we home school, we spin tops, we tear apart rooms & remake them(sometimes for years), we read books aloud and we love to spend time together.

Funny thing that is what I liked about the instructions I found in a book somewhere. The notching--it is easy & fast. Glad it helps!
ReplyDeleteWe had a rag rug when I was a little girl - I'm interested to see how it was made!

ReplyDelete@love2spin I hope that it works for you! It is so frustrating to not be able to do the things that you love.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's pretty neat. I do want to know how to do that. I'll be back.
